Affiliate-funded, and it does not buy a number we cannot source

CashOut Kenya is an independent affiliate site covering Kenyan betting taxation, payout friction and crypto cash-out routes. It earns commission when readers sign up through its links. Statutory claims are cited to the instrument and contested points are presented as contested.

How this site works

We earn commission if you sign up to an operator through our links. That is the entire business model and it is on the foot of every page. What it does not buy is a payout figure the operator has never published, or a resolution of a tax question that is genuinely open.

What we do differently

  • Every statutory claim names the instrument. Finance Act 2026, Gambling Control Act 2025, VASP Act 2025, with dates.
  • Contested points stay contested. The scope of the 20 percent withholding is unresolved and we say so on every page it touches.
  • We never suggest the offshore route removes a tax obligation. It removes a deduction at source, which is a different thing.
  • Every recommendation names its own downside. Offshore means no GRA recourse and no 14-day payment penalty.
  • Where an operator's own documents contradict each other, we publish both sides instead of the friendlier one.

Errors we correct

Common claimWhy it is wrong
The 5 percent on withdrawals is an excise dutyIt is a withholding tax. The excise is on deposits. Same rate, different statutes
Excise on betting stakes is 12.5 percentWrong on both rate and base. The Finance Act 2025 cut it to 5 percent and moved it to deposits
BCLB regulates Kenyan gamblingRepealed. GRA succeeded it in August 2025 under the Gambling Control Act 2025
The 20 percent applies to all gambling winningsThe statutory definition confines winnings to lottery and prize competition payouts by a GCA-2025 licensee
Whale.io pays out in 87 secondsNo operator source exists. The number traces to unrelated benchmarks on other sites
Cashback has no rolloverSecond Chance Bonuses carry 1x wagering and expire in 30 days

What we will not publish

  • A single number for what a Kenyan player keeps on winnings. No such figure exists.
  • A licence number for any named operator. Registers conflict, so check GRA directly.
  • Availability claims about competitor operators where sources contradict each other.
  • Any operator payout-speed figure the operator has not published itself.
  • Star ratings or aggregate scores. They are decoration on a page about money.
If you find something on this site that is wrong, it is worth telling us. Kenyan tax and gambling law both changed substantially in 2025 and again in 2026, and pages age badly in that environment. Every page carries the date it was last checked.
